Do you take my insurance?
We take most medical insurances and are in-network with a few vision insurance plans. Please call our office and we will gladly look into your insurance plan and benefits particular to your situation.

PLEASE NOTE: Most vision plans are in actuality weekly payments toward an exam fee yearly, with discounts on material. It can only be applied once per calendar year (every other year for some), and often, the pricing can be very close to purchases made on a private-pay basis, therefore making vision “insurance” a widespread misnomer in our society.

We pride ourselves on the fact that we are able to care for patients without the interference of insurance restrictions or guidelines that are usually not in the best interest of our patients. This way we can guarantee that you are being offered the best products in the eye care and eyewear industry today to prevent further issues with your eyes.

If my insurance is out-of-network with your office, how can I be reimbursed and how long will it take?
For patients that we are out-of-network providers for, we are able to provide detailed receipts of you exam and purchases, as well as aid in the submission to your insurance company for reimbursement with the appropriate forms. You are usually reimbursed with in 2 weeks after submission.

Will the office use my vision or medical insurance plan for my appointment?
The purpose of the exam will always drive which insurance will be used. If you are coming in for a comprehensive exam and have vision insurance that we accept (pending eligibility at the time of your exam), then most times, it will be used. If during the course of the exam, Dr. Swindell finds any medical issues as a result of your visual or ocular complaints, you will be made aware and the options for billing will be presented so that there are no surprises.

What services am I eligible for through my insurance?
It is the patient’s responsibility to find out from their insurance plan what is covered. We always try our best to let you know at least 24 hours in advance if there are any issues we foresee arising from your coverage.
