Proper eye care is important for people of all ages and regular eye exams are encouraged for everyone, but especially for those already using glasses or contact lenses. Your vision plays a vital role in your life each and every day, which is why it is so important to take the right steps for maintaining good eye health. At New Vision Family Eye Care, we provide a variety of services, from general exams to corrective surgery. We also carry a wide selection of eye frames for our patients as well.

Comprehensive eye exams

At New Vision Family Eye Care, exams are truly comprehensive. Yearly testing to determine a baseline for your glasses and/or contact lens prescription as well as screening for various eye diseases will be performed at every comprehensive eye exam. An assessment of your external and internal eye health will be performed by Dr. Swindell. Depending on your situation, this will be done with or without dilation. Each exam is completed with a copy of your prescriptions and descriptions of any eye conditions uncovered during the exam. You will also have time to discuss any questions or concerns you have with Dr. Swindell before the completion of your exam.

We believe a prescription is only as good as the material used to create it. After your thorough exam our frame specialist — with recommendations from the doctor and thorough knowledge of everything glasses — will assist you in selecting and ordering your glasses. Each of our frame lines has a story behind them and we have frames and lenses to fit every budget. With our unbeatable eyeglass warranty, you can rest assured that you will be covered with any mishaps with your new glasses until your next eye exam!

Contacts are more than just material to improve vision without glasses, the best fit and healthiest material for the eye is important to continued CL wearer success and healthy eyes for the future. We boast a large selection of Contact lenses to fit many prescriptions. We also specialize in hard to fit prescriptions and partner with special lens companies to get custom made contact lenses when needed.

Dry Eye

Dry Eye is one of the few diseases that can reach across multiple age groups and drastically affect quality of life. All patients presenting for a dry eye evaluation will receive pertinent testing to help determine the root cause of dry eye to properly be diagnosed and treated. A customized treatment and management plan will be created, together with Dr. Swindell, for each patient. Follow up exams will be scheduled as determined by severity and complexity of each individual case

Posterior Ocular Diseases

Posterior ocular diseases affect any of the structures in the back of the eye, particularly the retina. The retina is the back lining of the inside of the eye and houses all the neuroreceptors necessary to send signals of vision to the brain. Diseases that can affect the health of the retina include: Diabetic retinopathy, Glaucoma, and Macular Degeneration
